Can I reuse plastic Gatorade bottles?
Our bottles are made of a lightweight, recyclable plastic and are considered “disposable” packaging. We don’t recommend reusing our bottles for consumption because they can’t be properly sterilized or washed in a hot water cycle of a dishwasher as the plastic may distort and/or shrink.
How do you reuse a Gatorade bottle?
- Wash and dry the bottles and use them as organizers in the laundry room, craft room or work shop.
- Cut the tops off of three or more clean Gatorade bottles and make your own desk organizing set.
- Discard the lid and slide the bottle into an old tube sock.
- Fill the bottle with equal parts plain water and vegetable oil.
Are plastic Gatorade bottles BPA free?
Yes, Gatorade bottles are BPA Free. BPA (Bisphenol A) is primarily found in hard Polycarbonate plastics. However, Gatorade’s single-use ready-to-drink bottles are made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate). Re-usable 20 oz and 32 oz Gatorade Squeeze Bottles are made from HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene).
Are Gatorade bottles microwave safe?
Wash before first use. All components of the bottle are top-rack dishwasher safe. We recommend dishwashing once a day and hand washing in between uses if you’re using it throughout the day. Do not microwave or expose to extreme temperatures.
Can reusing plastic water bottles make you sick?
ANSWER: Yes, a laboratory test of multiple plastic water bottles revealed bacteria levels higher than what the EPA would deem acceptable. But, in most cases the bacteria that builds up by reusing water bottles won’t hurt you at all.
